Stem Projects Box Year 4

This series provides opportunities for pupils to creatively apply skills and knowledge in a variety of topics, applicable to a choice of suitably targeted year group, from Year 1-6. Each box covers the following topics:

1- Science
2- Design and technology
3- Mathematics
4- Digital technology
5- Short term project management
6- Long term project management

Each box contains:
• 2 introductory cards explaining time allocations for using the cards, planning tips, differentiating, assessing and supporting teaching and learning, and classroom and resource management ideas.
• 1 explanatory card explaining each set of the designing and making process in child-friendly language
• 1 science strand card, how the projects can be linked to design and technology and mathematics skills, including the task and specific design and technology strands of learning
• 6 short term projects
• 1 long term project for each learning strand of biological, chemical, environmental and physical sciences
• 6 copies of each project to allow for small group use

If the projects are chosen carefully, these are an effective way of delivering the design and technology National Curriculum.
